- I'm glad you are here -
I am very passionate about providing the absolute best tattoo experience possible and building long-lasting relationships with my clients. Tattoos are permanent, and so are the impressions that we all make upon each other. Be kind, be thoughtful, and be bold.
All appointments are booked through the front desk at Black Orchid.
Done at Black Orchid in Savannah, GA
I have been tattooing professionally for 9+ years. I strive to make sure each and every client gets the exact tattoo they imagined and always put a bit of myself in all my work. I specialize in calligraphy/script work and black and grey realism, but as you can see from my portfolio, I am more than comfortable in almost any style.
In my free time, I am almost always drawing, painting, or engaging in some other form of art as an outlet. I tend to always have 7 or 8 different projects going at any one time in several different types of styles and media.
Q & A
What should I bring?
All you need to bring to the appointment is your driver's license, payment, and a good attitude! We have an ATM on-site so if you didn't bring cash, we have you covered.
Does it hurt?
It really depends on the person. Everyone has different pain tolerance levels and definitions of what "hurts". The best way I describe the sensation to those who haven't been tattooed before is that it feels a lot like a cat scratch. Its a very slight scratching/burning sensation that is just on the very outer layer of the skin. Over my career of 6+ years, I have only had maybe 10 clients not be able to finish their tattoo (out of over 2,000+ tattoos).
How long is the tattoo process?
This can vary greatly depending on the design, location, style, and color scheme of your tattoo. Black and Gray tattoos tend to be quicker for a given size than color tattoos. Tattoos with lots of intricate line work take longer than tattoos that are mostly shading/magwork.
Do I need to shave first?
No. If you feel more comfortable then yes you absolutely can, but its not necessary. I will make sure the area is fully shaved and prepped before the tattoo process begins.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! Moral support can go a long way toward making your tattoo process as enjoyable as possible. Please limit your guests to no more than one (1) adult during your session to avoid crowding in the booth. Friends brought along must be 18 years of age or older.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably, and dress for the location of your tattoo. Example: If your tattoo is going on your hip/thigh, make sure to wear loose fitting gym shorts. If it is going on your upper arm, make sure to bring a tank top to wear during the tattoo. In general, dress in a comfortable way that gives easy access to the area we will be tattooing.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
1. Get a good nights sleep the night prior to your appointment.
2. Take a shower the morning of your appointment to ensure tattoo area is as clean as possible.
3. Eat a full meal within a few hours before your appointment. This will prevent dizziness/lightheadedness.
Should I bring headphones?
Sure! You are more than welcome to listen to music or watch a movie on your phone/tablet if that makes you feel more comfortable. If not, I am more than happy to talk to you throughout the process if you have any questions or just want to chat in general, it makes the time go by easy :)
What if I am on medication?
Most medications will have no effect on the tattoo process, with the exception of any major blood-thinners. Do your research to determine if your medication could be an issue beforehand. If in doubt, consult your physician before booking your tattoo appointment.
Can I get a tattoo while I am pregnant/breastfeeding?
You cannot get a tattoo while you are pregnant. This is bad for the mother and the fetus. As far as breastfeeding, that is a personal decision that is up to you. There are various schools of thought regarding this, but the answer to the question is that yes you will be permitted to get your tattoo if you choose to.
Can I bring my kids?
No. Only adults 18 years of age or older are allowed in the shop.
Can I bring food or drink?
You should definitely eat prior to your appointment. On longer sessions, there may be a break in which you can have someone bring you food, but it will be eaten outside the tattoo shop. A small bottle of water or sports drink is fine during the session as long as it has a closable/sealable lid.
How much will my tattoo cost?
Price estimates are only given in person at a consultation at the shop. All estimates given at the consultation are based on estimated time to complete the tattoo.
Where on my body should I get my tattoo?
I will work with you to determine the best placement for your tattoo if you are unsure of where you would like it. I will make sure we find a location that fits within any concerns or parameters you may have.
What if I can't make it to my appointment?
If you need to reschedule your appointment, a 24-hour notice is required in order to apply your deposit to the new appointment. No-shows or cancellations the day of the tattoo will result in loss of deposit.
How do I take care of my tattoo?
Aftercare instructions will be provided and thoroughly explained at the conclusion of your appointment.

All deposits are non-refundable. Appointment reschedule requires 24-Hour advance notice. No-shows and reschedules less than 24 hours result in loss of deposit.
